MORE THAN TWO MILLION TONS OF ANNUAL PRODUCTION

The exploitation of the Santullán quarry is founded on an important layer of 300 meters of Urgonian limestone which covers an area with a total surface of approximately 2.8 km² . The exploited minerals, Micritic and Bioclastic limestone, have a purity of more than 99% on calcium carbonate. Average CaCO₃  content exceeds a 98%.

Our current annual production is over two million tons of crushed  high purity calcium carbonate minerals. Capacity which can be doubled if necessary.  Simultaneous and additional production capacity of other primary blasting commodities, used for construction and civil engineering projects, is even greater.

Santullan has invested greatly in the accessibility of the Quarry and currently all benches are operational, this allows us to obtain at all times and almost instantly, large production volumes and meet any need or peak demand of our customers..

THE CONSERVATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

A paved road to the central square of the quarry allows trucks to access, select and load our primary blasting, core and armourstone products.

For successfully running a major mining operation for over 60 years, the commitment to the conservation of the environment and the wellbeing of the local society is vital.

With this objective and always complying with the very strict Spanish and European mining and environmental legislations, the most restrictive in the world, Santullán both historically and systematically invests part of its resources on environmental improvements and local sustainability project.
